Energetic Drives Solar Powered Inverter Systems
It
is common knowledge that there are a number of very good photovoltaic
cell producers. Many applications are associated with domestic
and personal usage. Most of the small systems afford the home
owner or business owner the opportunity to offset their energy bills by
producing 1-5 KW of energy from their home kits.
Energetic
Drives has taken this concept and created a grid-tie inverter system
that can be used in a stand-alone configuration for personal use.
In addition, the photovoltaic energy system can now be added to the
common platform solution used in our “Green Building” designs.
The
energy produced by photovoltaic cells is in the form of a DC
voltage. Each cell is configured in series and in parallel to
create “strings.” Each string is configured to produce 400-600
VDC ( based on the peak power tracking voltage).
This voltage is fed into a DC to DC converter. The output DC
voltage is 720 volts which is fed directly onto the Energetic Drives
Common DC Bus.
The
current design allows us to put up to 10 KW of solar panel energy onto
our DC bus at which time the energy is converted by our grid-tie
inverter into clean three-phase, unity power factor, 220/480 volts
compliant with IEEE 514 and IEEE 1547 in addition to other UL
compliances for ones own use.
At
this time the 10 KW of energy produced is used to augment the energy
being produced by the roof mounted wind turbine(s) and the energy
produced by the elevator system. The Green Building energy
production is 65-100KW total. This energy is used to power up to
a 10 story building or a small manufacturing facility.
In
the near future we will be able to create solar energy by itself.
Development of a large power rating DC to DC converter is currently in
testing.
