Key
Team Members
Ian K.
Griffiths - VP of Sales and Engineering - Founding member
Ian
started his engineering career in the Royal Navy, programming and
maintaining Weapon Control Systems. He received his BTEC National
Degree while serving his country. Arriving in California, he continued
his career as an Application’s Engineer with Matsushita Corporation,
integrating PLC, PC, Servo, AC/DC Drives, HMI’s and many other control
products. During this time Ian received his BSEE from UC Berkeley, CA.
Upon completion, Ian entered into business management,
becoming
one of Mitsubishi Electric Automation’s most successful Regional Sales
Managers. Having spent over six years with the company, Ian joined a
new business opportunity and started a very successful technical
distribution enterprise. He joined the Parker SSD Drives team as
Regional Sales Manager for the Western United States in 2002 where he
gained his knowledge of the Grid Tie Inverter / Green Energy production
market. He has enjoyed a successful career over two decades in
engineering and business management. He has more than 1,000 systems
integrated into the global Industrial Manufacturing industry.
In 2009 Ian decided to put his
experience to work for this new venture: Energetic Drives.
Semion Stolyar, PhD - Chief
Engineer
As
a successful and innovative team player, Semion understands the
engineering objectives of our projects. His experience comes from being
a Senior R&D Engineer at Tidland Corporation and a Senior
Project
Manager at Converting Machines Inc. in addition to other management
positions. Semion is the holder of 70 Global patents and has extensive
knowledge of the very latest technologies including Autocad 2000, 3D
modeling IDEAS, FE analyses on Windows and Unix platforms, Servo, AC/DC
motor drives and controls and numerous PLC language
experience.
Semion holds a BS, MS and a PhD, including a degree in business
management. As Chief Engineer, Semion manages all of the mechanical and
electrical designs. His extensive knowledge of converting machines, web
tensioning, robotics, hoist and cranes (to name just a few) is of
inestimable value to Energetic Drives.
Roman Stolyar - Engineer
Roman
has over 15 years of extensive experience in various fields of
mechanical engineering. Some of his experience includes designing
and building rotary die cutters, print stations, and six color web
presses. He has also developed Flexo conversions and enclosed doctor
blade conversions with leakage proof end seals, an innovative gear
train with special angle gearboxes using a progressive gear study for
high impact mechanisms with technological support for heat treatment
and implemented a special coating for high-load applications.
Additionally, he has designed and developed a special sensor for torque
control using off-the-shelf strain gage transducers. Roman is
well versed with AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks and drive component
development software.
Frank Moyer - Business Manager
In
2009, the Green Energy movement roused Frank out of a dogmatic
retirement slumber. Frank, as a business owner of two successful
printing companies, is keenly aware of the costs to industry of
producing product. Knowing the direction that Energetic
Drives
was created to follow, he wanted to be a part of a movement where the
primary focus is to clean up power and optimize efficiencies in power
usage. Adding to this meld of philosophies, Frank is a great
asset to help in the management of our team of highly qualified
engineers. His primary function is to coordinate the team
efforts
of marketing and promotion. You will see Frank at tradeshow
booths where Energetic Drives will offer their technologies and
solutions to potential clients.
Craig
J. Boughton – Project Director
Programming
computers since the age of seven along with a love of numbers and
mathematics set Craig up for a career in the IT world, though a strong
interest in self-improvement led to a parallel path of
music and
accelerated learning. Craig has over 20 years of experience
as a
software engineer primarily working for three companies in three
different industries: Defense contracting,
Healthcare and
the Wireless industry. Additional consulting work was
performed
in other areas for various companies including Xerox and
Intel. A move to the Pacific Northwest found Craig
involved
with Real Estate investing and, later, becoming the Director of a
non-profit organization for three years before joining forces with the
Energetic Drives team. Craig’s educational background comes
from
an array of areas that includes attending six different colleges and a
PhD(c). Craig’s broad experience lends itself very well to
the
Energetic Drives Team, as the solutions provided require network
integration at various levels of connectivity and topology. Craig
is the primary designer of our power algorithm charts.
Alan Rogers - Regional Sales
Engineer
Alan
has over 30 years of industrial electrical controls experience
including industrial robotics, drives, networks, sensors, OIT and
PLC. He has also enjoyed successful sales and project
management
experiences, working at the factory level as a Site Engineer, Product
Engineer, Sales engineer, Marketing Manager and Sales
Manager.
These experiences have included working as a Regional Sales Manager for
Basler Electric, managing half of the USA and Canada for protective
relays into medium voltage (switchgear) applications as well as being
responsible for sales of excitation upgrades for generators used in
large industrial applications and the protective relays that allowed
them to supply power to the grid. Additionally, while at
Panasonic Industrial, Alan started out in the (electric) Motors
division and was promoted into Global Sales. Needless to say,
this positions Alan perfectly with the strategic focus of Energetic
Drives. Alan holds a BS in Construction Engineering
Management
from Oregon State University, School of Civil Engineering.
